ABOUT Me

My name is Jonathan Hand; my wife Carley and I are local photographers located in High Point, North Carolina. We love to photograph the special moments in people's lives. We specialize in wedding and family photography.

MY Background

I have a background in photography and graphic communications from Appalachian State University where I earned 2 Bachelor of Science degrees in 2011. There I focused my studies on digital and film media, graphic design, photography, printing, and web design. I have been photographing families and events for years and have photographed multiple weddings. I launched my business in 2015 and am excited to work with amazing people to help them capture the special moments in their lives.

MY STYLE

I believe the best images are the ones that feel authentic and are captured from the true emotion of the moment, whether it is a father seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time or the flower girl gazing in admiration at the gown hanging in the window. I aim to capture natural moments of joy and beauty with my work in which you and your loved ones interact and show who you are. My style is primarily shot in a photojournalistic manner, so although you will receive beautifully posed couple, bridal party, and family images, I will work to capture the beauty and essence of your wedding day as it happens in the most natural way possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

I AM READY TO BOOK, WHAT’S NEXT?

To reserve a date, you need to fill out and sign the photography contract and send in a $100 non-refundable deposit. The full amount is due one week before the wedding, and we will send you a reminder one month out!

CAN I PRINT MY OWN PICTURES?

Yes; although I retain the copyright to the images, you will receive a print release for all high-resolution images and are welcome to print your own anywhere you choose (shutterfly, walmart, etc.). You can also post your images online as long as you provide a link to my website or give me credit.

HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL I RECEIVE?

For a typical wedding, you will receive between 300 and 600 images.

WILL I RECEIVE EVERY PICTURE THAT YOU TAKE?

No, I do not provide every picture taken. I edit out the photos where your eyes are closed or you are making an unflattering face. I want you to look your best, so your photos are selected carefully.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE OUR PHOTOS?

Wedding day proofs are ready to see in about 2 months.

WHAT TYPE OF CAMERA EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

I use a Canon EOS 60D, which is a midsize professional SLR. This camera provides clear, high quality photos that allow for enlargements for wedding albums and photo prints. I also use high quality, professional Canon, Tamron, and Sigma lenses that allow me to take pictures at a distance and in lower light conditions.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE BEFORE WE CAN SEE A SNEAK PEEK OF OUR WEDDING PHOTOS?

I love sneak peak photos! I try to get a few photos up on Facebook either the night of the wedding or the following day, so keep an eye on our Facebook page!

WHAT IS YOUR STYLE LIKE?

I believe the best images are the ones that feel authentic and are captured from the true emotion of the moment, whether it is a father seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time or the flower girl gazing in admiration at the gown hanging in the window. I aim to capture natural moments of joy and beauty with my work in which you and your loved ones interact and show who you are.

DO YOU DO POSED SHOTS?

I definitely do posed family and group shots. My style is primarily shot in a photojournalistic manner, so although you will receive beautifully posed couple, bridal party, and family images, I will work to capture the beauty and essence of your wedding day as it happens in the most natural way possible.
